The Mindfulness Group for Men (MGM) is a free monthly online session, in two parts, for men who are completely new to mindfulness, and for those with experience. We meet on the third Saturday of each month from 11:00am – 12:30pm:

11:00 – 11:45. The first part is for those who have some experience, have attended at least an 8-week course, or have established their own regular practice. Both mindfulness trainees and qualified teachers are warmly invited to guide a meditation during this part of our session.

11:45-12:00. A break of 15min before we resume with the second part.

12:00 – 12:30. In the second part, we welcome beginners to the group. Meditations are guided by qualified experienced volunteer teachers.

Yes, men meditate too! Statistically, more women practice mindfulness than men, showing that we seem to be less drawn to the world of mindfulness. But regular practice may bring many benefits – help you live in the now, relieve stress, lower blood pressure, become less reactive and support a calmer disposition. The MGM was set up in January 2021 with the intention of creating a welcoming place for men to begin their mindfulness journey and /or deepen their practice. Our ambition is to attract more men into the practice of this millennial wholesome tradition.

This event is offered by the Mindfulness Network Community Friends (MNCF) – an initiative to engage the wider mindfulness community and reach new audiences. The Mindfulness Network is a registered charity. We serve the mindfulness community and general public through supervision, retreats and training courses delivered both in-person and via our online platform - the Mindfulness Network Community site. The Mindfulness Network Community Friends (MNCF) is an initiative to engage the wider mindfulness community and reach new audiences through donation-based events and opportunities to practice. Led by a Committee of Volunteers, supported by the Mindfulness Network, we work together to run a programme of events and inspiring content. By developing mindfulness and compassion both internally and through our services, the Mindfulness Network has the intention to reduce/alleviate human suffering, promote well-being and create the conditions in which people, communities and the planet, can flourish. We aim to bring together highly-trained mindfulness-based supervisors, retreat leaders and teacher trainers who all work within Good Practice Standards set out by the British Association of Mindfulness-Based Approaches (BAMBA).
