Course: Improve Your Sleep

May 3, 2023 @ 6:30 pm - May 24, 2023 @ 8:30 pm BST

$120 – $220

COURSE DESCRIPTION

As many as 62% of adults around the world say they don’t sleep as well as they would like (Philips Global Sleep Survey, 2019). Not getting enough sleep can creep into all aspects of your life, negatively impacting your health, happiness, and longevity.

Join sleep expert Dr Sofia Pereira and Breathworks Co-founder Vidyamala Burch for this 4-week course which will offer a deep dive into sleep science and practical ways you can improve sleep quality.

Their holistic approach to rediscovering better sleep combines sleep hygiene education, mindfulness, relaxation techniques. Science-based theory will be balanced with experiential learning and the opportunity to meditate together in a supportive online group.

Each week, you will be introduced to new theoretical concepts including:

– Sleep architecture
– Circadian rhythms (our ‘body clock’)
– The function of sleep and dreams and what can help us better regulate our sleep routine

One size does not fit all when it comes to practicing good sleep hygiene. In this practical course, you will learn what works for you and your body through personal reflection, including discovering your chronotype (are you a ‘lark’ or ‘owl’) and how to best adapt your sleep-wake schedule accordingly. There will also be an invitation to keep a sleep diary and monitor your progress over time.

Each session will also introduce a new sleep hygiene practice to explore and experiment with throughout the course.

Through slow and incremental changes, you’ll learn to develop new and healthier sleep habits that can help you cope with sleep disturbances caused by chronic pain and illness, ageing, insomnia and / or stress*.

WHAT I WILL GAIN FROM ATTENDING?

– A deep dive into sleep science and theory
– Expert knowledge from sleep and meditation specialists
– Develop new habits to take into the rest of your life
– Discover your chronotype and how to harness this for better sleep
– Opportunity for self-reflection through a personal sleep diary
– Opportunity to connect and practice with others around the world

COST

Tickets for this course range between £120 – £220 depending on what you are able to pay, with a limited number of bursary places for those in financial hardship.
