MBSR is the most studied mindfulness program, first created in 1979 by Professor Jon Kabat-Zinn in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Anderson Cooper interviewed him in a special about mindfulness for 60 Minutes. This was the course used in the study that showed mindfulness works as well as anti-anxiety medication. MBSR is an 8-week program with an extra orientation day that provides you with tools to help you cultivate greater mindfulness in your day-to-day life. Each session is highly participatory, and the training encompasses a wide array of mindfulness practices, including sitting and walking meditation, mindful eating and mindful communication.
Presented by the Center for Mindfulness & Compassion, part of the Cambridge Health Alliance in Cambridge, MA, a Harvard teaching hospital. Classes are with live instructors over Zoom.
