A Mindful Way Through The Creative Process | U of T Continuing Studies

March 5, 2024 @ 6:30 pm - March 26, 2024 @ 8:00 pm EST

$350

Welcome to ‘A Mindful Way Through The Creative Process,’ a course designed to provide structure and momentum by using creativity to support you in every phase of a project, life goal or unrealized dream. This inclusive, live, online program features a distinctive, east-to-follow 10-step model that seamlessly combines project management, mindfulness practices and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) principles to help you move through any obstacle. Participants will learn to address and navigate ‘mind traps,’ the very things that might stop you, and instead, you can learn to include in the broader scope of your project. This holistic approach offers pathways for either bringing a current project to fruition or exploring new possibilities, so come even if you are not sure what you want to create!

Who is this course for? A Mindful Way Through the Creative Process is ideal for anyone interested in moving forward into action, in spite of life’s seeming challenges. This course is built to help you face familiar fears like impostor syndrome, self-doubt, or even outright paralysis. If you want to create it, this course will show you how! With mindfulness at the base, this program teaches you to treat obstacles with the same kindness, compassion, and gentleness you’d offer a close friend -which keeps you from triggering your threat response. The course breaks challenges down into manageable tasks, given out at each session, with the live classes used to go deeper into the concepts, tools and materials, offering step-by-step guidance.

“What can you expect? As part of the U of T Continuing Studies program, participants of all backgrounds are welcome, even if you have ideas that you are not creative. It is ideal for anyone interested in exploring mindfulness in everyday life. You’ll be introduced to specialized mindfulness practices like ‘C.A.L.M.’ focused on calming and connecting with the nervous system and increasing well-being, and ‘Stop, Breathe, Connect.’ Brief 5-minute practices at the start and end of each session aim to equip you with valuable skills for you to integrate into a joyful, action-filled life”
