The Future of Mindfulness

May 10, 2024

£60

Sussex Mindfulness Centre’s upcoming conference is themed The Future of Mindfulness. Join us on Friday, 10 May 2024, to explore how mindfulness can help shape our future.

How will mindfulness influence the future? Alongside the big issues of the day, what role will mindfulness play? Technology, the climate emergency and the cost of living crisis are rapidly shaping the world we live in. Added to this, the increasing polarisation of discourse is undermining social cohesion and our ability to engage with the pressing issues that affect us all. Is mindfulness just a niche, wellbeing intervention? Or does it have the potential to transform our world?

We will be exploring this theme in a day-long conference with leaders from their respective fields including: Vidyamala Burch OBE, Jamie Bristow, and Debbie Abrahams MP.

Bio

We aim to improve the wellbeing and mental health of all people who can benefit from mindfulness. We do this by running mindfulness and compassion programmes, training teachers, and conducting research. The Sussex Mindfulness Centre is part of the Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. We are the only mindfulness and Mindful Self-Compassion teacher training and research centre embedded in the NHS. We bring together teachers, teacher trainers and researchers of mindfulness-based approaches. This includes a partnership of Trust staff, experienced researchers at the University of Sussex, and experienced teachers and trainers in the local community. We have good links with local teachers, as well as with trainers and researchers in other mindfulness centres and universities in the UK.
