Teacher Training Online Level 2

November 30, 2023 @ 2:00 pm - December 10, 2023 @ 8:00 pm GMT

£1071

In these difficult times we are committed to continuing to provide high-quality Mindfulness Teacher Training in the best way we can. It seems that the world needs skilful teachers now more than ever and as a result we have developed an online equivalent of the Teacher Training Retreat Level 2 (TTR2). Our intention is to create a rich, safe learning environment that will support you in your Mindfulness teaching journey and we aim to offer all that the residential TTR2 offers in an accessible online format. The training retreat will take place online using Zoom for the sessions and our Community Site for the materials, in a format of two modules of 4 days each and the dates are:

1) 30th November – 3rd December
2) 7th – 10th December

The Teacher Training Online Level 2 (TTO2) is an opportunity to deepen and develop the skills and knowledge involved in teaching mindfulness-based approaches. Our time will be spent together in silence as we practise, as well as in small and large groups as we learn interactively, through our individual and collective experience.

Participants will have opportunities to lead practices and investigate personal and co-participants’ experiences of these. Detailed instructor and peer feedback will be offered to support the learning.

This programme is designed to respond to the growing need for mindfulness-based teachers to take their development and learning process deeper. Participants on this programme will have previously participated in a mindfulness-based Teacher Training Retreat Level 1 or equivalent and will have current experience of teaching Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction and/or Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy. Consequently, participants will have moved beyond the first explorations of the form and shape of mindfulness-based programmes and curricula, and will developmentally be at the point of exploring ways to:

refine existing skills
further develop understanding of the teaching and its underpinning themes drawn from the different worlds of science and dharma
inquire into the ‘person of the teacher’ – the way in which each of us relates to ourselves, the individuals, the group and the teaching process itself
A key overall intention is to support participants in developing the ability and confidence to teach from the immediacy of their own experience. This tends to grow out of a depth of experience of the practice, the teaching process and the form of the programme. Developmentally, many teachers find that their confidence of knowing what is needed develops to the point that they can let go of holding the teaching in a certain way and relate to the process from a wider, more spacious and spontaneous place.

Learning will be conducted through:

facilitated group dialogue
small group and partner exercises practising and teaching core elements of mindfulness-based programmes
simulated mindfulness-based group session interactions
development of personal practice in the context of retreat
Although the training is online there will be a strong retreat element involved and this will need to be negotiated with family and work which allows participants to be immersed in the practice and learn to deepen their teaching skills and offer teaching practice to their peers from this place. The intention of this is to facilitate the transition into and access to a deeper and wider spaciousness of mindful awareness that will inform the developmental processes that will follow.

Pre-requisites for attending:

This further teaching development process is intended for professionals who have:

taught a minimum of three eight-week MBSR or MBCT programmes

Bio

The Mindfulness Network is a registered charity. We serve the mindfulness community and general public through supervision, retreats and training courses delivered both in-person and via our online platform - the Mindfulness Network Community site. The Mindfulness Network Community Friends (MNCF) is an initiative to engage the wider mindfulness community and reach new audiences through donation-based events and opportunities to practice. Led by a Committee of Volunteers, supported by the Mindfulness Network, we work together to run a programme of events and inspiring content. By developing mindfulness and compassion both internally and through our services, the Mindfulness Network has the intention to reduce/alleviate human suffering, promote well-being and create the conditions in which people, communities and the planet, can flourish. We aim to bring together highly-trained mindfulness-based supervisors, retreat leaders and teacher trainers who all work within Good Practice Standards set out by the British Association of Mindfulness-Based Approaches (BAMBA).
