Running with Heart and Mind – Mindfulness for Runners with Stuart McLeod and Cesare Saguato

May 20, 2024 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm BST

‘Synchronising body and mind is not a technique or a random concept someone thought up for basic self-improvement. Rather, it is a basic principle of how to be a human being.’
Chogyam Trungpa

In this webinar, we will explore the varied methods and benefits of learning to run with awareness, drawing from the MBSR, MBCT and MBCL curricula.

A tendency when many of us run is to be on autopilot, finding our mind anywhere but present and aware of the embodied and rich sensory experience of running. Running mindfully begins with paying attention, becoming more aware of our inner and outer experience as it unfolds, with less reactivity and more stability of mind. Whether you are new to running, an experienced runner or simply curious about the benefits of applying mindfulness to the body in movement, this workshop will share valuable insights from the work of mindfulness teachers Stuart McLeod and Cesare Saguato, as the founders of RUN:ZEN, who offer workshops and one-to-one coaching focused on mindful running.

Our evening together will also include some brief guided practises – including mindfulness in movement – with plenty of time for questions and sharing of your experiences.

This event is offered in collaboration with the Mindfulness Network Community Friends (MNCF) – an initiative to engage the wider mindfulness community and reach new audiences. Led by a Committee of Volunteers, supported by the Mindfulness Network, we work together to run a programme of donation-based events and inspiring content. The Committee ensures that the MNCF can best serve everyone by providing opportunities to practice and learn together.
