Donation-based monthly workshops hosted by Fiona McKechnie and supported by the Mindfulness Network Community Friends, held on Tuesday evenings. These workshops will be an opportunity to explore mindfulness and how it can support managing a fatiguing health condition.

Tuesday, March 12th, 2024: Overview of fatigue and a mindfulness-based approach. Where can we begin?

Tuesday, April 9th, 2024: Sleep and rest for the tired yet wired.

Tuesday, May 14th, 2024: Managing the boom and bust through mindful activity management. “How can I take care of myself?”

Each session will include:

– Current thinking on post-viral and persistent fatigue and the basis of a mindfulness-based approach. This will be presented in an accessible way and while not a comprehensive review of the research, is informed by current research and best practice.
– A 20-minute practice and short practices.
– Breakout rooms to discuss with others.
– Time for questions but please note very personal or complex queries will not be able to be addressed in this forum.
– There will be a 10-minute break halfway through the 90-minute session, and other fatigue management principles will be practiced throughout.
– Part of each session will be recorded and will be available on the tiles at the bottom of this page.

Checking in and setting intentions

When you join a mindfulness group or workshop, it is important to be clear about why you want to do it, what you hope it will help, and what you already know. So we can help you best, knowing a bit more about you is really helpful, therefore please complete the check-in before registering on the Zoom link for each session. You will only have to complete the check-in once.

Bio

The Mindfulness Network is a registered charity. We serve the mindfulness community and general public through supervision, retreats and training courses delivered both in-person and via our online platform - the Mindfulness Network Community site. The Mindfulness Network Community Friends (MNCF) is an initiative to engage the wider mindfulness community and reach new audiences through donation-based events and opportunities to practice. Led by a Committee of Volunteers, supported by the Mindfulness Network, we work together to run a programme of events and inspiring content. By developing mindfulness and compassion both internally and through our services, the Mindfulness Network has the intention to reduce/alleviate human suffering, promote well-being and create the conditions in which people, communities and the planet, can flourish. We aim to bring together highly-trained mindfulness-based supervisors, retreat leaders and teacher trainers who all work within Good Practice Standards set out by the British Association of Mindfulness-Based Approaches (BAMBA).
