Supervision Training: Level 1

July 3, 2024 @ 9:00 am - July 5, 2024 @ 5:00 pm BST

£435

This three-day online training course will be taught experientially and we will be developing understanding, confidence, and skills in mindfulness-based supervision through a process of mindful exploration and inquiry.

We will explore together the underlying foundations of mindfulness from which come the principles, tasks, and functions of mindfulness-based supervision. We will introduce a Mindfulness Supervision Framework that includes a supervisory inquiry process. Discussion and skills practice will help us better understand how the Supervision Framework can be applied in supervision across a spectrum of mindfulness-based approaches, including the supervision of students and teachers, and for those working one to one, and in groups and organisations.

Time will be given to practice, reflective time, and explore together in dialogue in small and large groups as we learn through our individual and collective experiences.

The intention is to create an open, spacious learning environment that will encourage and support spontaneity and creativity.

In order to participate in the training, you will need:

A room where you can close the door and engage in the training away from family distractions. It may be helpful to use headphones.
Log in via a computer that is resting on a hard surface and which has audio and a webcam. Please don’t use handheld devices to log in.
When you are not speaking turn on mute to reduce background noise.
As far as possible, please give yourself over to the learning during this time with a minimum of distraction.

Pre-requisites:

This course is for experienced mindfulness-based teachers and practitioners:

who are already supervising or are interested in beginning to supervise from a mindfulness-based stance, and
who have a background in mindfulness-based approaches necessary to fulfil the Good Practice Guidelines for Teachers of MBAs and the Good Practice Guidelines for Trainers of MBA. Please see the British Association of Mindfulness-Based Approaches (BAMBA) to familiarise yourself with these guidelines before applying for this supervision training.
Additionally, applicants need to:

* have taught at least nine mindfulness courses over a minimum of three years

* have participated in a Level 1 Teacher Training Retreat or Course – or an equivalent training programme
* are in receipt of ongoing mindfulness supervision
* ideally have participated in a Level 2 Teacher Training Retreat
* (it is desirable but not essential to) have had previous training as a supervisor
If you are unsure whether you meet the criteria for this course, please contact us to discuss.

Bio

The Mindfulness Network is a registered charity. We serve the mindfulness community and general public through supervision, retreats and training courses delivered both in-person and via our online platform - the Mindfulness Network Community site. The Mindfulness Network Community Friends (MNCF) is an initiative to engage the wider mindfulness community and reach new audiences through donation-based events and opportunities to practice. Led by a Committee of Volunteers, supported by the Mindfulness Network, we work together to run a programme of events and inspiring content. By developing mindfulness and compassion both internally and through our services, the Mindfulness Network has the intention to reduce/alleviate human suffering, promote well-being and create the conditions in which people, communities and the planet, can flourish. We aim to bring together highly-trained mindfulness-based supervisors, retreat leaders and teacher trainers who all work within Good Practice Standards set out by the British Association of Mindfulness-Based Approaches (BAMBA).
