Teacher
Judith Hill-Weld teaches Mindful Self Compassion, and was trained through the Center for Mindful Self Compassion. She offers workshops and classes both in person and online in this well-researched, secular mind training developed by Christopher Germer and Kristin Neff. Judith started studying mindfulness in 2001, discovered Mindful Self Compassion in 2013, got derailed by other activities, and then returned to MSC in earnest in 2018. She reports that she never really wanted to be a good meditator, and still isn't, but that the MSC practices and community hooked her curiosity and then inspired her to radically change the way she treats herself. Finding flexible avenues to self kindness and self support has allowed her to reduce her own anxiety (or at least respond to it more effectively), limit her controlling behavior, and choose more values driven responses to her experience. She believes firmly in the power of compassion to heal and support individuals, families, and communities. In addition to being a Mindful Self Compassion teacher, Judith is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (California License 38526), a lover of poems and dogs, and a compassionate mess.
