Teacher
Maria has been a licensed and certified occupational therapist for over 20 years and she's been integrating mindfulness-based practices into her therapy with children for the past five years. She has helped many children with anxiety, attention difficulties, and social-emotional struggles to build skills and become more self-aware, centered, and balanced through the practice of mindfulness and yoga. Maria brought her mindfulness lessons beyond the clinic, where she could reach children, teens, adults, and families in an effort to improve well-being, increase happiness, and share the value of equanimity with her community. Maria has provided professional development & self-care for school teachers/administrators, training retreats for parents and caregivers, and courses & workshops for youth and adults. Maria currently offers private and small group mindfulness & yoga sessions for all ages, teaches mindfulness in schools, and provides guided meditation classes. By cultivating and maintaining a personal mindfulness practice, Maria believes everyone can better navigate the inevitable ups and downs of life, with patience, commitment, and compassion.
