A virtual exploration of the science of compassion and the intersections of well-being and mental illness, experiences of compassion as idea and physical sensation, and strategies for use in daily life, therapeutic supplement, and self-advocacy.

Objectives:
Differentiate between mental health and mental illness and supports for both

Understand and apply concepts of non attachment and ‘western’ mindfulness

Understand and apply empathy and compassion towards self and others

Understand, identify, and implement compassionate responses to emotions, thoughts, and behaviors of self and others

Understand and implement compassionate self-advocacy

Required Materials
Computer, tablet, phone, or other device that can access the internet, play videos, and engage in course platform (Thinkific)

Notebook, journal, or electronic way to journal and take notes

Course Format and Structure
You will have access to the course 48 hours before the official start date. The course includes both live sessions and at your pace components. Each module will have a list of related resources that may help deepen your knowledge, practice, and community. All assignments must be completed within 72 hours of the last day of the program to receive the completion certificate. If you need extra time for any reason, please email me so that I am aware and can make the appropriate arrangements. The assignments are reviewed for understanding, there are no wrong answers, submission of completed assignments will meet the requirement for the certificate of completion.
