April 3, 2024 @ 12:00 pm - 12:45 pm HKT

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every month that begins at 12:00 pm on day First of the month, repeating indefinitely

These live sessions provide space for the community to connect and shift perspective into a mindful presence. The sessions are led by Joanna Cheung, here is her personal message

Hello,

I was introduced to various meditation practices at a young age. When I first learned about mindfulness, I was fascinated by the simplicity of observing what is present, and yet it is deeply profound. Mindfulness has transformed my life. It has given me the tools and headspace to be a better person as I put on various hats for the many roles I play in life, whether as a sports business executive or a partner at home, a mentor or a parent, a daughter or a friend.

In the past 10+ years, I have practiced in multiple retreats, received training, and attended workshops led by some of the world’s most celebrated mindfulness teachers, including the late Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh and the founders of well-recognised secular mindfulness programmes such as MBSR, MBCT, MSC, MB-EAT as well as Mindful Athlete and Playing the Inner Game.

I am a certified mindfulness teacher by UCLA’s Greater Good Science Centre and ‘The Present’ children’s mindfulness programme.

I am inspired and ready to share the practice with you.

Warmly,

Joanna

Bio

BMC Academy came to life after seven years of community building at the Beijing Mindfulness Centre. Nested in the hutongs of an old-style Beijing neighbourhood, this quiet courtyard has seen many generations of practitioners eager to learn how to be better learners, parents, teachers, partners and humans. Through 1:1 and group coaching as well as themed workshops, silent retreats and Mindful Self-Compassion programs BMC is the place for Beijing's international and local community to pause, breathe and connect in common humanity. BMC Academy enables every coach to use mindfulness and a holistic approach as catalysts for awakened consciousness. The change we want to see in the world begins with the cultivation of embodied practice.
