You know that saying, “life is what you make it”? Well, it’s true. The way we live our lives, moment to moment, is a result of the thoughts and habits that we’ve developed over time. If we want to live a fulfilling life, we need to learn how to change our thoughts and habits.
That’s where the Mindfulness for Real Life Masterclass comes in.

In this class, you’ll learn how our minds work on default and how we can learn skills to disrupt our default patterns and live with empowered choice. You’ll learn how to live with integrity, clarity, and intention.

The free Masterclass is also an opportunity to learn how you can continue to develop these skills in the 8-week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction program and the 8-week Return program. (You can watch my TEDx talk: Returning to the Field here.)

WHAT IS MINDFULNESS
Mindfulness is our innate capacity to observe our experience without rushing and reacting that allows us see clearly and live in harmony with ourselves and all beings.

However, we’re socialized to judge, rush, and react. Overtime, our conditioning takes over and we lose that connection with our ability to return to mindfulness in the middle of life.

Just meditation isn’t enough to disrupt our deeply ingrained habits. In this masterclass you will learn the three key steps on the path to living mindfully in the real world.

WHAT TO EXPECT AT THE MASTERCLASS

At the free Masterclass for Mindfulness in Real Life you will explore and experience:
1. Your innate capcity to be mindful
2. How your mind works
3. The three hindrances that get in the way of being mindful in real life
4. The transformative potential of mindfulness based on our award winning research paper
5. Mindfulness is more than meditation
6. How mindful habits can empower you to respond skillfully in criitical situations

If you feel out of balance, overwhelmed, or unable to focus on what’s important, please join the free Masterclass for Mindfulness in Real Life to see how you can learn ways to strengthen this innate quality in you to observe your experience, without resisting or grasping. It is this capacity that empowers us to see clearly and make fulfilling decisions.

The free Masterclass is also an opportunity to learn how you can continue to strengthen your capacity to be mindful with the 8-week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction program and the 8-week Return to Mindfulness program.

In the Words of Mentors, Collaborators, and Participants

“The field… I’ll meet you there!!
It was wonderful! I loved seeing the early photos and think you left people with many directly helpful suggestions. Different, not difficult. Brilliant! And you brought it full circle back to the field, together. Amazing you could do so much in such a short time.
Bows. You served The Dharma with love.”

“I’ve worked with Shalini as her student in mindfulness classes since 2014. To say that she is an inspired, generous, compassionate, and wise teacher would be the understatement of the year! Words fail to describe the gifts that Shalini has helped me nurture in my own life and those around me. I owe much of my spiritual, emotional and mental growth in the last 4 years to Shalini’s inspired teachings. Her ability to bring mindfulness and the tenets of Buddhism in a secular, thoughtful and science-grounded manner into our community is nothing short of miraculous. I am immensely appreciative, honored and privileged to have had the chance to work with her as long as I have. I will continue taking classes and learning from Shalini for as long as she is willing to teach me!”

~Shiri, CEO & Founder at AuCoDe

“Laurie and I found that committing to this practice as a couple was very important for us as we continue to learn and grow after 34 years together. Shalini has taught us so much about meditation, insight, and skillful actions that we try to incorporate into our lives. We find that having someone close to practice with does help reinforce the many benefits of mindfulness. Laurie and I are grateful to have practiced with Shalini as she is a wonderful teacher and an equally nice person. Mindfulness is a permanent part of our lives now.”

~John, CFO at G.S. Precision, Inc

“I just finished a six session Executive Series at Downtown Mindfulness with Shalini Bahl. My health depended on learning meditation and stress reduction techniques. My life drastically improved from additional lessons Shalini taught me. I often and highly recommend Shalini to friends who are stressed out; who have an interest in self-improvement; and who’d appreciate that greater perspective translates into greater success. Shalini’s class benefited me most by implementing reminders in my daily life that make me more thoughtful about the potential impact on other people of my words and actions. People I work and socialize with have remarked that they recognize in me a greater calm since I became a student of Shalini’s. I’m grateful for the life-changing perspective she shared.”

~Cinda, President W.D. Cowls

I took an eight-week MBSR course with and am now constantly using the techniques and mindset she taught me to help handle the big and little stresses and conflicts of daily life. Shalini is a great teacher; her course was well balanced between theory, discussion and practice and each class had a clear purpose and built on what we had previously learned. She is also a great role model; she always embodied the principles of mindfulness, being full present, aware, and accepting of whatever her students brought to class.

~Gavin Andresen
Former Chief Scientist, Bitcoin Foundation

“I think Shalini has an uncanny understanding of the human mind. How else could she identify the causes and effects of something seemingly obscure, like procrastination. Thank you Shalini.”
