Mindful Self Compassion Intensive in Nature If you are too hard on your self, learn the skills of befriending your own heart through MSC
If you are too hard on your self, learn the skills of befriending your own heart through the research supported mindful self compassion curriculum. This 5 Day Mindful Self Compassion Intensive in the beautiful natural environment of the Ecology Retreat Centre in Mono, Ontario outside Toronto is the full eight-session MSC curriculum experienced in an intensive format; this is six nights and five full days of training, with a psychologist and Certified MSC teacher who has completed additional MSC teacher training.

Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) combines the skills of mindfulness and self-compassion to enhance our emotional well-being. While mindfulness increases our awareness of the present, self-compassion encourages greater kindness and understanding of periods of suffering. It also helps us accept our flaws and better understand our challenges. MSC is a research-supported program developed by Dr. Kristin Neff and Dr. Christopher Germer. Research on self-compassion have shown that it boosts happiness and improves relationships while reducing anxiety, depression and shame. Increased levels of self-compassion can transform empathy fatigue into wholehearted engagement with others.

As the name suggests, the MSC intensive in Nature is a deep dive into the practice of self-compassion in the support of a beautiful natural environment. While it can be emotionally challenging, concentrated MSC practice allows you to become deeply involved in MSC and experience its transformative potential. Learn to manage difficulty with more ease and kindness. This MSC Intensive is very special as there will be additional emphasis on nature connection and accessing the ecological Self Leadership that emerges from deep personal practice of mindfulness in nature.

Participants Will Learn

To befriend their self–critic, develop self-compassion skills, and foster goodwill towards themselves and others. The 5-day intensive explores typical responses as difficulties arise.
