Light at the End of the Tunnel

February 4, 2023 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm UTC-5

There’s light at the end of the tunnel! We’re coming up on the midpoint between the Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox—a potent, hopeful time of year that was a big deal for our ancestors in the northern hemisphere and still carries meaning for us today. It’s the time when we turn the corner of winter and start to notice the earliest signs of spring, when we’re still in the dark and also turning toward light.

To acknowledge and connect with this in-between time of year, I’m offering a virtual meditation gathering, a space to come together, pause and reflect on this seasonal transition. What have you been contemplating in the depths of winter? What new plans and ideas are you ready to plant? This is a beautiful time to discard what isn’t working and focus on fresh beginnings.

The session will include a short talk and reflection, journaling and/or sharing, maybe a little movement or music (in the spirit of trying something new), and a guided meditation. If you wish, bring something that symbolizes growth and hope to you—a candle, some seeds you can plant later, an image of a goal you’re reaching for, etc.—and something to write with.

If you’d like to participate, please email me at laura.sidwell.smith@gmail.com to sign up. Thank you!
