Holiday Reflections: Celebrating the Winter Solstice and Welcoming the New Year

This time of year can be loving and joyful, and it can be also stressful and sad—sometimes all at once. In these two holiday gatherings, we’ll take some time to rest, reflect and reconnect with the meaning and spirit of this time, whatever that feels like to you.

Celebrating the Winter Solstice: Tuesday, December 20, 8:00 – 9:15 PM Eastern
In this class, we’ll spend some time taking stock of the year and reflecting on anything you want to let go of. What do you want to leave behind so you can start the new year lighter, with more clarity? If you wish, bring a candle or other object that symbolizes light to you (a picture of the sun, a spiritual figure, something golden, etc.) and something to write with.

Welcoming the New Year: Monday, January 2, 2023, 12:00 – 1:15 PM Eastern
In this gathering, to help begin the New Year with lightness and more clarity, we’ll reflect on what you want to bring into focus in the coming year. What do you wish for yourself in 2023? What do you want to experience and call into being?

These gatherings are via Zoom and include a short talk and reflection, journaling and/or sharing, and a guided meditation. For both sessions, be comfortable—have a blanket or pillow, an essential oil or other scent that you love, something warm to sip, whatever helps you feel cared for and relaxed. There is no cost to attend.
