This innovative online, live and interactive National Counselling Society approved six months core skills training in Mindfulness Based Interventions (MBIs) is directed by Robert Gebka – a Qualified Mindfulness Teacher with the University of California San Diego Medical School, a former Zen Buddhist monk, NHS mental health worker and author of Managing Depression with Mindfulness for Dummies and is co-presented by our Dr Julia Forster, educational psychologist, Dr Xun He, a Bournemouth University neuroscientist and Dr Shantha Perera, a Wolverhampton University medical lecturer. We support evidence based research

Dorset Mindfulness Centre is actively involved in research with University of Derby, University of Wolverhampton and Exeter University. The research projects are investigating the effects of several meditation techniques taught at the Dorset Mindfulness Centre on chronic sleep problems, anxiety and depression as well as markers of inflammation, cortisol, physiological variables such as blood pressure.

The Dorset Mindfulness Centre is a safe space for personal growth, stress reduction and wellbeing. The centre is also a platform for research and collaborative coming together of practitioners for the purpose of promoting mindfulness as a therapy, a technique and as a lifestyle. Our aim is to offer our life long experience and professional skills to those interested in making meaningful changes in their lives. We offer Mindfulness for Life 8-Week MBSR/MBCT, and Self-compassion courses as well as the Certified Mindfulness Practitioner and MBSR Teacher Training programmes. Our trainers are members of the British Association of Mindfulness Based Approaches and receive regular supervision.
